This fall, the Phillips Academy Alumni Council's bi-annual meetings coincide with an exciting event - the Volunteer Summit and official launch of Andover's new capital campaign. Members of alumni council, class agents and other fundraising volunteers, trustees, staff, faculty and students will intermingle under the still warm September sun.
The weekend begins with a welcome reception and dinner for Alumni Council members and other volunteers on Thursday, September 14 in Davis Hall within McKeen Hall on the Abbot campus where current Andover students that have participated in the Tang Institute's off campus programs will share perspectives and reflections.
The Alumni Council's normal schedule will be compressed into Friday sessions including the Executive Committee meeting at 9 AM, new member orientation and a full council welcome session following one after another. Committee meetings will begin at 12:45 PM on the Abbot campus, capped off with the closing sessions at 3:45. Council members will then reconvene with volunteers at an opening reception for new, Fall exhibitions at the Addison Gallery at 5 PM. Finally, venture over hill and dale through the Bird Sanctuary to a dinner at the log cabin starting at 6:30 PM.
Saturday begins with breakfast at 8:00 AM and Back to the Classroom sessions at 9:30 and 10:45 AM (prior registration required). The entire Andover community will gather at 12:00 PM for a luncheon on the Great Lawn, including students, faculty and visiting alumni. Following lunch, alumni can attend athletic contests and a variety of other events through the evening.
