Mission

To enrich the lives of Andover alumni by inspiring them to live the values of the Academy and to be a catalyst for lifetime engagement.

 


What the Alumni Council does:

  • Alumni Council committees maintain contact between the alumni and selected areas of school life and serve to support the Academy in various endeavors involving alumni.
  • The Alumni Council recognizes alumni for accomplishment and distinction in their fields and as volunteers serving the interests of the Academy in a variety of ways.
  • In alternating years, the Council oversees the nominations that lead to the election of two Alumni Trustees who serve four-year terms on the Board of Trustees.
  • The Alumni Council welcomes the newly graduated class into alumni status.
  • The President presides over the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association each year on reunion weekend.
  • The Alumni Council President serves a three-year term on the Board of Trustees.
  • The Alumni Council chooses new members each year in such a way as to recognize significant volunteer service and provide a living profile of the entire alumni body.

Alumni Council Officers:

Misty Muscatel Davis ’01, President. Misty grew up in Andover and was a four-year day student before going on to earn a BS degree from Carnegie Mellon . She has been employed at Google since 2005 and lives in New York City.

David Brown '95, Vice President.  Davis is a thoughtful, analytical, and enthusiastic freelance producer and writer with varied experience in scripted and non-scripted programming. He is a strong leader and contributor in all stages from pre to post production. His production credits include projects with FUSE TV, MTV, VH1, and coverage of the Olympics.

Steve Matloff '91, Vice President.  Steve graduated Andover from the amazing Class of 1991, who recently celebrated their 25th reunion with a record participation giving rate of 57%.  He is married to his amazing better half and leads numerous of the regional Andover activities in Southern California.

Stacy Metcalf '90, Vice President.  Stacy is a passionate, dedicated educator. Inspired by her years at PA, Stacy started her teaching career at Brewster Academy, where she taught 11th grade American Literature, coached field hockey & aerobics, and ran a girls' dorm. Since 1997, she has worked at The Hamlin School, a dynamic all-girls independent K-8 school in San Francisco, where she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English and recently became the Assistant Director of High School Counseling.

Tom Beaton '73, Former President.   As MD of Next Step, LLC, in Boston, Tom provides organizational consulting to private equity and venture capital firms as well as to their portfolio companies.  He has been a member of the Alumni Council since 2004, during which time he has led numerous committees.  In 2007, Beaton cofounded Non Sibi Day.
